PHILIPS SELECTS TRUITION'S ON DEMAND PLATFORM FOR ITS ECOMMERCE
STRATEGY IN EUROPE
Pan-European strategy to see multiple online stores centrally managed through a single on- demand platform
(Toronto - July 26, 2006) - Truition, a provider of on-demand eCommerce solutions today announced that Philips, one of the world's largest companies for electronics, has selected Truition's on-demand eCommerce platform for the realization of its European eCommerce strategy. Together with DHL, Truition will deliver a pan-European turn-key solution that allows for multi-channel eCommerce through online shops, marketplaces and other third party channels.
Truition's Commerce Management System (CMS) is an on-demand, enterprise-class eCommerce platform that offers online retailers the flexibility, customization and control of a licensed or in-house solution without requiring the high investment in software, hardware or IT resources. Truition has delivered a fully customized multi-channel eCommerce solution that fulfils the unique requirements of Philips. From a single on-demand eCommerce platform, Truition in co-operation with DHL, will launch Philips online shops across six different European countries, many with multiple pricing, language and currency requirements. These online shops will service approximately 100,000 Philips employees offering them access to electronic merchandise.
DHL, general contractor and long time business partner of Philips, is responsible for the central fulfilment and logistic services for all merchandise sold online. Inventory across all Philips online shops is centrally managed through Truition's eCommerce platform streamlining overall business and fulfilment processes.
